Takis Zervoudakis – the founder of Glam events company is included in the last issue of magazine “Weddings & Honeymoons” as one of the fifty top wedding planners all around the world.

Our founder Mr Takis Zervoudakis has been invited to be one of the main speakers in the “World Wedding Forum” taking place in Mumbai (Bombay), India on the 11th & 12th of March 2020. Furthermore, he is also invited at the IIWC (India International Wedding Congress) which will take place in Kolkata (Calcutta) on the 7th – 9th of March 2020.

These invitations came due to the fact that Mr Zervoudakis is considered to be one of the best wedding planners for destination weddings in Greece. It is a great pleasure for him, because it is an acknowledgment of the hard work and successful events in the wedding industry for the last 15 years.

GLAM EVENTS participated in the most important congress for Wedding Planners of the world. The only event of its kind in the world, Destination Wedding Planners Congress (DWP Congress) was organized in Florence this year, 11-13/4/2016.

The congress brings together high end destination wedding planners under one roof to meet with a lavish spread of organisations who push the boundaries of industry excellence- the most unique destinations, extravagant venues along with leading wedding suppliers and creative partners.
Its a row for international business, form collaborations and partnerships, introductions to uncover new destinations, explore creative ideas and products, immerse ourselves in the latest trends in destination weddings, be inspired by fresh ideas – DWP Congress is the ultimate destination to capitalise on this multi billion dollar industry.

A strictly by invitation only initiative attendees, list from literally four corners of the world represent the industry’s most well known destination wedding planners, globally renowned wedding connoisseurs that proudly wave their country flag at this fantastic amalgamation of the destination wedding planning industry.

DWP Congress is an ultimate destination to capitalise on this multi billion dollar industry.
We were glad to participate in DWP congress reprsenting Greece and the most beautiful wedding venues as Crete, as also the cycladic islands (Santorini, Mykonos…etc), Central Greece, Peloponissos, Athens, and Thessaloniki-Halkidiki and we hope that our business relationships from there will offer to our country a big financial raise.

Glam Events wedding specialists (www.glamevents.gr ) is proud to announce that we have been awarded «Destination Wedding Specialist of the year» by the British publishing house « Luxury Travel Quide», who rewards businesses in every continent and in special categories from all the tourist industry (hotels, restaurants, services etc.).

The awards are handed after examining each candidates file. The prequalification however, takes place throughout the year, by a special committee’s internet voting, therefore adding significant prestige and acknowledgment to the prize winners. The published issue of all the winners will be distributed to 500.000 subscribers in the field of tourism, also 250.000 free copies, are sent to luxury hotels, cruise ships and airport lounges around the world.

The particular award as «Destination Wedding Specialist of the year» is an establishment as the leading wedding specialist in Greece. It is the continuation of our participation in the 3th DWP congress, the world’s biggest wedding planner convention, which took place in Florence with 150 of the leading wedding specialists from around the world.

Glam Events has also set a major goal. That is the establishment of Crete, as one of the top wedding destinations. We would like to take the opportunity to thank all the bodies who supported us all these years. We hope to meet yet another goal with your collaboration.

It is our great pleasure to say that the 1st wedding venues’ sightseeing in Crete organized by Glam Events, which took place between the 8th and 10th of April 2019 has been successfully completed.
In this 3-day event, there were 30 wedding planners attending from around the globe, coming from countries such as; America, Russia, Dubai, Bahrain, Egypt, Lebanon, the UK, Netherlands, Hungary, Czech Republic, Italy etc…

The welcome gala took place on Monday the 8th of April at the Centre of Mediterranean Architecture in the old Venetian Harbour of Chania where Mrs. Mihailaki, the representative of the municipality of Chania welcomed all of them. Afterwards they were informed about the reasons a couple might want to choose Crete as their wedding location and then, a reception with live saxophone and violin followed.

During the following 2 days, the participants were toured to many venues throughout Crete (estates, farms, hotels, beachpoints, etc…) and in between-Tuesday night- a 2 hour presentation of 40 additional wedding venues took place in Avra Imperial Hotel.

The  conclusion emerged by the participants responses, is that Crete indeed contains all the elements needed in order to become a top wedding destination and they all promised to include our island to their basic proposals/promotions towards their customers.

For the realization of this event, we would like to specifically thank the Hoteliers Union of Chania and the hotels Crete Palm, Santa Marina Plaza, Avra Imperial and Kydon hotel for accommodating our guests, Cretan VIP travel for all the transportations conducted, Moderno Catering, Agreco farm and Paspati Estate for all the meals offered, the florist shops ”En Kipo”and Maria Zebili for the decorations, the gentlemen Mr. Stelio Gazioti and Mr. Edmond Aleksi for the live music, ZitaAlpha photography and Videoview for the photo-video coverage of the event and last but not least, the Vice-mayor of Hersonisos area, Mr. Moudrakis for all his help and effort.
